The Record Plant Remote truck brings the recording studio to any location for the recording of a musical performance event and does so with studio equipment sophistication supported by such names as API, UREI, Apogee, dbx, Demeter, Drawmer, Empirical Labs, Eventide, GML, HHB, Lexicon, Meyer, Neve, Panasonic, Yamaha, Summit, TC Electronics, Time Line, Tube Tech, Tascam, IZ Technologies RADAR Nyquist, Sony, Tannoy, Genelec, Bryston... As the centerpiece is the API console, sporting 54 inputs, 48 buss, three stereo buss, custom discrete design with touch reset, 10 aux sends, 12 returns, 4 cues, API 550A EQ, AudioScope custom video metering displays for VU and peak level monitoring, GML moving fader automation,with P&G faders. Attached also are ancillary Yamaha 406 6-channel submixers providing 24 inputs, and ATI 8MX2 outboard mic preamps with summing capability. The Record Plant Remote has been chosen to record shows that led to live air broadcast, television concert series, music history documentaries, and live record albums chiefly because of the sound the API console imparts alone! Electric power is supplied by Yanmar Diesel Generator with capability of 16 KVA (kilo volt amps) with blimped housing. There are two 10 KVA Isolation stepping transformers with tap switches, and additional Tech transformer and one auxillary transformer. Transportation is provided by Volvo FE715 main cab, and the trailer box transport having dimensions 36 ft. x 8 ft.. Throughout its 30-year history there have been many modifications to the box section to accommodate the most up to date upgrades to recording technologies and techniques beginning with the original Wally Heider design. A healthy and routine maintenance history is key to the truck's ability to offer and provide dependable service over the years. Even to date the Record Plant Remote can be called upon to deliver with utmost assuredness the recording endeavor and an elegant result.
