A bit of nostalgia...
Frequency response differences between M7 capsule (mylar, original Telefunken era U-47M) and Neumann era U47 (dual polyvinyl diaphragm K-47 capsule). Note rise and dip of K-47 beginning @ 2kHz. This looks very much like a Neumann U-47fet as well (again, K-47). M7 exhibits slow consistent rise beginning at 2kHz and tapering off after 10kHz, giving that particular "airyness" to the U-47M. Neumann sourced the engineering and designs for both eras. The M7 is found in CMV563 and UM-57 microphones also.
